VIETNAM SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA ANNOUNCES 2026 SEASON
The Vietnam Symphony Orchestra (VNSO) is pleased to announce 10 Subscription Concert Series and a number of other programs in 2026, taking place at the Grand Concert Hall – Vietnam National Academy of Music.
VNSO's series of pre-booked concerts has been built since 2005, so far there have been 179 programs. The next programs, from No. 180, consist of 10 concerts throughout March 2026 to January 2027, bringing together prestigious national and international conductors and soloists, with typical classics of the world's symphony and chamber treasures.
The 2026 concert season is built according to the main artistic conceptual axes including the series of works by Haydn (4 programs) and Tchaikovsky (3 programs), in addition to major works by many other authors such as Dvořák, Mahler, Wagner, Rachmaninov, Mozart, Ravel... reflecting the depth of history as well as the stylistic diversity of Western classical music.
The opening program of this year's season will be held at 20:00 on March 1, 2026 at the Grand Concert Hall - Vietnam National Academy of Music. The concert, conducted by conductor Honna Tetsuji, with pianist Henri Sigfridsson soloist, performed two works: Franz Liszt's Les Préludes (Symphony of Preludes) and Sergei Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 2 in D minor, Op. 18.
The first program of the season - No. 180 will take place on March 28, 2026, opening the series of works Haydn I and Tchaikovsky I, under the direction of conductor Sado Yutaka, and cellist Phan Do Phuc.
The programs in 2026 will bring diverse artistic highlights, with works that are always awaited by the classical music loving public: two piano concertos Nos. 2 and 3 by Rachmaninov; Ravel's Sol major piano concerto, Tchaikovsky's Symphonies Nos. 4-5-6; Symphony No.8 and also No.9 "From the New World" by Dvořák, Mahler's Song of the Earth...

The series of programs has been and continues to affirm the long-term and sustainable artistic orientation, aiming to build the habit of enjoying music and art for the public, and at the same time create a meeting space between the heritage of classical symphony and contemporary music life in Vietnam.
